I snipped that image out of the datasheet for the RTMR.

As for the RFRM, here's the link to the Bussmann RFRM webpage at the Cooper Industries Eaton website.

On this page, there are two links, one for the datasheet and another for a sales drawing.

With regards to the RFRM, the drawings are not split up for each model like they are for the RTMR. But hopefully these links provide you enough information to answer your questions or help you.

I hadn't been able to find that sales drawing. Thanks!

Putting together a kit is not that difficult. But the heaviest cost is actually in the tooling and wiring. So I'm not sure if it would be worth it.

Keep in mind that you have to buy minimums for the terminals and cable seals, and the cost of 100 components vs 20 isn't that big of a deal. Furthermore, when you're talking about a RFRM, you might as well just get the 100 minimum anyways because the box requires more. Last, one you thing you might not be considering is that mistakes happen during assembly. So you definitely want waste.

Also wanted to let you know, that with the setup the tutorial outlines, power to the switches are provided from a fuse-tap off of the OEM under-dash fuse panel, which is live only when the ignition is on. This means that the five relay circuits are ignition on only. If this doesn't work for you, then you can switch to a different fuse off of the panel or route power in a different way.

As for the fuses, they get power directly from the battery. So this means they're live all the time. Five are dedicated for the relay circuits, so you can't count them because they're associated with the switch power. But the other five fuses are live always. In my truck, I'm currently using two circuits. One is for my hood lighting and the other is for a dome light in my shell. Both of these can be turned on with the ignition off.

Yes and no. It's not an exact comparison. While that box is cheaper, you're getting a lot less.

You're not getting 10 Metri-Pack connectors, male and female.
You're not getting a Weather-Pack connector, male and female.
You're not getting Metri-Pack and Weather-Pack terminals, male and female.
You're not getting Molex connectors to connect to the switch panel, male and female.
You're not getting Molex terminals, male and female.
You're not getting a long wiring harness to connect to the switch panel.
You're not getting heat shrink and braided sleeving.
You're not getting two external ground busbars.
You're not getting 4AWG power and ground wires. Based on their pictures you're getting less.
You're not getting 10AWG wire for all your accessories. Instead, you're getting 12AWG and 14AWG.
You're not getting GXL or TXL automotive wire. Instead, you're getting GPT, which is rated at a lower temperature.
You're getting a fusible link instead of an ANL fuse and holder.

So with that said, not all of the above is required or even preferable for some people. But this is what I used for the tutorial and what is factored into the cost. Also, I'm not saying PMA4x4's box is unacceptable. If it fits your needs, then it would be a great box and recommended. In fact, I provided a link to it in Part 1 of the tutorial as an alternative.

Anyone know of a fuse slot in the engine fuse box which is "ignition on"? I have checked every damn slot with my multimeter and I think they are all "always on". I'm trying to wire up my solenoid. So far I've had to connect it to a random hot spot when I want to connect the batteries.

    Thanks

Front bilstein 5100 with OME 884 w/trim pack, 17" fuel trophy wheels wrapped with 32" toyot open country m/t, bakflip fibermax tonneau cover, Avec 30" led light bar behind lower grille, marathon seat covers in max 5 camo pattern, trimmed front and rear mud flaps, more to come.
That is one hell of a complete and thorough write up. Bravo! Wish more people were like this on their DIY. Here is mine with a blue sea fuse block only have a 30" light bar and led hood lights into it know still haven't changed my power for the switch to the inside so the switch cuts off with the truck but haven't had any problems with it draining my battery. I just make sure the switch is off when I get out and yes I know it still pulls some power but not a lot I checked image.jpg

Hey OP just to kinda cut to the chase what would you say would be the price of one of these bad boys the way you built it in total at the end? Just trying to see if building my own will save enough to make it worth wild
