    Tools needed
    Fingers
    Trim removal tool(s)
    8mm socket

I had the truck turned off with no key near it as I did this.

    1. Remove the ac vent/stereo surround. (I don't have pictures of this but I simply put my fingers in the ac vents on each side of the radio and pull)

    2. Remove the drivers side ac vent/cluster plastics next. Same concept as 1. (There is a tread around here showing how to do this. I swapped out my orange OR surrounds for gray SR5? ones)

    3. Next we need to remove the instrument cluster. 8mm bolts on each corner of the cluster. Be careful not to drop them into the lower dash abyss.

    4. Pull the cluster out and disconnect 2 wiring connectors and a white wire holder.

    5. The chime speaker is built into the back of the cluster. You need to remove the black plastic panel to gain access to the speaker. There are a few tabs you need to pry up to remove it. Be careful. The round black thing with a hole in the middle of it is the speaker.

    6. The speaker is soldered onto the cluster's circuit board. I just twisted it back and forth until it broke off. No more annoying door chime if you open the door before shutting off the engine.

It took me longer to figure out where the sound was coming from than it was to actually remove it.

This is a permanent solution unless you want to solder the speaker back to the board...

I have the carista and it is not an option. I don't think the techstream can do it but my dealership is full of idiots also

I know you can with Techstream on a 2nd gen. Don't think anyone has tried with a 3rd gen yet. I would assume so though.

That door chime is so fuckin stupid. If you open the door and shut off the truck it won't stop dinging until you close the door. Fuckin pain in the ass.

I turned off the seat belt chimes with the carista app already lol! I don't need all these beeps telling me what to do. I live in Alabama man. I can drive with all the doors open, no seat belt on, and all the catalytic converters cut off it if I wanted to!

it is not much, but has been covered in detailed here before with screen shots of the carista app. Should be easy to find.

I just push the rubber "button" that the door would push when closed and the chime stops with the door open.

It can change the volume of the outside locking beep or turn it off? And it disables the seat belt chime. It can turn off the doors automatically locking in drive... don't know why it doesn't do the door ajar functions... Kinda of a rip off but at least I can use it on my wife's car and do diagnostic stuff

I think I'll tape over the door switch with Gorilla tape and see if that's a quick and dirty.

Thanks for finding that! I was wondering where that damn speaker was the other day. As soon as the GF gets back with the truck this afternoon, I'm going to be getting that thing out of there.

Did the same thing on my BMW when I couldn't take it anymore. No more door ding, no more seatbelt chime. Sweet silence.

Clearly none of you have ever owned a mid 90's Mazda.

Their door "dinger" is actually this stupid, strangled sounding little CONSTANT buzzer.

    Just this grating
    HHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

as long as the key is in and the door is open.:frusty:

My Toyota beeping at me is a breath of fresh air compared to that.:p

Another member found the switch in the ignition and removed some parts to silence the annoying beeper.

This is what I did on my AC:IMG_0245.jpg
