DIY Hitch Rack For Carrying Long Material

    so often times i have to carry some pretty long stuff home (12-16 footers) and unfortunately the bed is just too short so i made this rack that attaches to the hitch and allows me to carry longer boards/metal. Just figured i would share it with you guys in case you wanted to make your own. It has adjustable bars at the top to help keep the material where you want it and distributed evenly. The below pictures show some 16' 1x1 box tube just to give you an idea.

    I like that the load is high enough that it won't impale someone from a crash from behind. Unless it happens to be a tractor-trailer.

    I made it level with the roof incase I wanted to Carry something from the roof over to the rack horizontally
