Looks like the part of the bushing that sticks out more needs to face out, is that correct??? I need to do mine and im a bit confused as to which way the bushings go in.

Yes, the instructions with the bushings detail it. :)

Mine didn’t come with instructions. It was a craigslist purchase. Has everything but the instructions and grease

In that case, make sure the two holes in the bushings are horizontal with the arm, wider part faces out, and that's it.

Called local dealership how much they charge to press out the old bushings and press new ones in, they told me $260 and it takes one and a half hours to do the job. I told them the arms are removed from the truck, it's just a matter of pressing out old ones and pressing new ones in, the still said $260

I doubt the dealership will press bushings.

Dddaaammnnn $216 just in parts to rebuild. Doesnt includ the cam bolts or whatever a shop will charge to press. Was hoping this rebuild would be a little cheaper :( debating on getting replacments from rockauto now.

The biggest weak point of aftermarket LCA's, I have found out, are the ball joints. I have less than 15K miles on Dorman LCAs I got from Rockauto and the BJs are shot, especially the pass side BJ. I found out inadvertently when I separated the BJ bracket to install new coil springs. With no load on the BJ,'s they turn in place with no resistance; the pass side has play. So, who knows when they actually went out.

I'm curious if you or anyone can comment on their experience installing the aftermarket moog LCAs with whiteline bushings on their 2nd gen?

The reason I ask is that I just tried installing my moog LCAs with brand new whiteline bushings, and the bushings will not clear the mounting tabs even without the washers. There's just no way it's going to fit. Another TW member was nice enough to give me his old factory LCAs and when I hold them side by side with the moogs, there is an obvious difference in the distance between the arms of the LCA...easily 1/4 of an inch. Either the Moogs are manufactured to slightly different tolerances than OEM toyota LCAs, or I bent the shit out of two control arms.

I would guess you probably bent the metal when pushing out the moog bushings or when pressing in the whiteline ones. You should go to the parts store and compare them to another set of moog arms if that's an option.

That's what I originally thought, but the shop of course swears it's impossible that anything they did would have caused them to bend. It's more of a curiosity for me at this point. They are currently pressing everything out of the moogs and into the toyota ones I dropped off.

So you didn't have any trouble installing the moog LCAS with the whitelines?
