Made a skid plate to protect the brake and fuel lines on my rallyx car, lowered it off the jacks and the plate severed a brake line.

Rims and tires , exhaust , stereo , Bhlm ,Changed carpet to black from grey. toytec ultimate lift kit. Allpro front bumper and light bar. In process of blacking out interior. Otrattw switches, black vinyl armrest mod, clazzio leather seat covers with heaters, flowmaster dual exhaust, hornblasters train horns,
Did the same thing. Hope I never get a flat. Had to use air blaster to get beads to seat. I went from 265/55/20 that was on truck when I bought it. Was able to replace tires and rims for less than what 4 20" tires were going to cost.

8 in wheel was your problem lol. The 255s are designed only up to a 7 in wheel.. anything more than that is no bueno lol

I tried wiring the factory fogs to an aux switch and thought since it was "negativly switched" you put the negative from the old switch on the new one. All I saw was a cloud of smoke, flipped the switch back off. went to start the truck to find ABS, parking brake, and rear locker light on, no windows or ac. That one wire melted like 6 wires that kept making a fuse pop so I had to wire all of those wires...

    Oh man...where do I begin.

    My 1990 Accord
    - When I was putting in my lowering springs/adjustable struts I disconnected the UCA as that's how my friends had done it in the past which allows you to pull the spring/strut/tophat assembly up and out. It disconnected the CV joint and then I couldn't get it to snap back together. The only way you can get the axlenut off is to have the tire on the ground to give you the friction. Ended up having to undo the LCA to make everything fit back together only to round off a nut in the process. My friend basically cleaned up the threads with a Dremel. My car was on jack stands for a week trying to figure out how to fix that one.

    2. Wired washer LEDs (remember those?) directly to the battery with a switch. No fuse, no firewall grommet, no insulation. I'm very lucky I didn't have a fire.

    3. When I reinstalled my rear interior after I had my quarter panels replaced I pinched the 3rd brake light wiring which caused it to short and blew a fuse. I kept replacing the fuse before I realized what the cause was. Turns out I melted have the brake light wiring before I fixed it.

    My STi
    1. Was washing it so I ended up having the wiper arms up. Went to open the hood and scratched it.

    2. I still need to get around redoing the stereo wiring as it's not as clean as I'd like it to be. Rather than use a heavy gauge wiring and a distribution block to power my two amps I have two amp kits (since I had one for each amp) and one wire was too short so I lengthened it using not such awesome wire (same gauge, poor connection).

    1993 Toyota Xtracab
    1. When I wired the KCs on my ARB I spent a lot of time with solder and heat shrink thinking I'd do a really professional looking job. I ended up heat shrinking both wires I had just soldered together so every time I turned on the lights the fuse blew. Took me a solid few hours to realize I was dumb.

    My Tacoma
    1. Just yesterday I was putting in my Homelink module and instead of grabbing the map light wiring I grabbed the Bluetooth microphone wiring. I swore I got +12v across the red/black wires from the microphone with my DMM but it wouldn't power the module. Moved it to the map wiring and it worked.

I'm sure there will be many, many more to come as I have a tendency to break things when I'm working on projects.

WHAT? Every tire that I have looked up says 7-7.5 max wheel width..

That is strange for sure.. My maxxis bighorn 255/85s are rated for only 7 in width

    More than I can afford
Last weekend I decided to finally install my dashcam.
Since my truck doesn't have a compass/temp gauge, I was going to tap 12v up there.
Removed overhead console, turned key on, started probing the connector with a DVOM trying to find power.

Found nothing, searched interwebs to find pinout, scratched head, drank beer. Just as it was getting dark and I was ready to give up and button the truck up, I reached over and turned the key to ON instead of ACC. Oh, there's the 12V.

D'oh. Nothing broken but that is a couple hours of my life I will never get back.

    Ugh where do I start?

First mod when I got my truck, Got car mesh for a satoshi, cut that the exact size of the opening with no extra mesh to really connect to the grille :annoyed: . I now have painted chicken wire holding it to the grille (should get a picture of that up here)

Next are the lights I put behind the grille.
    null_zpsc709dce1_7b531476f55318357c5019c7ef726d6448198e52.jpg

They are mostly for looks since the radiator support is so close to the radiator that I can't adjust the lights to not converge and be up so... it's a spotlight

    397D6066-6316-482D-AD3C-DAC6BBAD2DD5_zps_d2b3cf6ee45375944fec45a4cae4e4d8869cc6d2.jpg
But they do make a very good spotlight haha

    Next is plasti dip rims

    AE51B583-0685-4F08-B1E8-CF24BC985122-102_8459cbe1150f1ff0fae5e92e74c66666778c4961.jpg

Turned out ugly with how the front of my truck is!

Then my latest addition is my camper shell. I ordered duplicolor lunar mist spray paint online and I guess they sent me generic silver! Well guess who found out after spraying the camper? Me

    CF473FC7-0C11-4E04-B544-D41439DDEF2D_zps_7dea144f015078285ca464ff563d59e7d8fc60e0.jpg

and might I say that I didn't have enough to coat it evenly so its nice and splotchy!

    unnamed-1_zps58595b46_2f969c321b0f42c50234b8fcafde928498b82872.jpg

That is all for now until I paint the camper shell black. Which hopefully wont be a blooper... Please don't let it be a blooper

My first mod went well at least with my leveling kit, but all after has been shenanigans. Someday I'll have a mod that goes well again!
