Just like everything on Amazon, it fluctuates greatly.

I've got one as a backup for when I eventually break the plastic one.

I did ten oil changes on our Volvo with a reinforced nylon cartridge that didn't even have the flutes. Four were done before we got it. It was fine for the life of the car.

I actually have an extra plastic one, but not for the purpose of a backup. That housing is a bit of a pain in the ass to clean so l just rotate them each change, one is already clean and dry with the new filter in it ready for the next change.

I did my 50k oil change on Saturday. For the fun of it, I used my smaller 3/8in ratchet. The cartridge came off easily and smoothly. I should have checked the loosening torque for shits and giggles. Maybe next time.

    Hey, Folks.

I just did the 60k service last Saturday. The cartridge came off easily with a standard 3/8in ratchet again with easy pressure.

On this OCI, I traveled the SW in August and did full tank stints. If that isn't total heat soak, I'm not sure what is. This is just further confirming my theory of shops using too much ugga dugga.

Also, I tried the filter removal without messing with the bottom drain. It was only slightly more messy than using the drain. I will be doing it this way in the future.
