How much deflection are you getting from the smittybilt hinges or L shape when weight is loaded?

All the long beds were hiding! I only have one long bed in the initial batch!

I'll get on it and take a video. I don't think it moves at all actually.

Will your cab and camper racks be the same height and width? Say you throw a 2x4 on top, will it be flat(front to back) across both racks? I really only need the shell rack, but might as well coordinate

I would be interested in the details for the cab rack when you get it finished. If I could be a part of that list when the time comes. The racks look good.

    Yes.

I have an 8ft pipe for my awning posts that I want to mount on both racks.

And carrying 16ft lumber is a must with the final setup.

What about to the “other guys” setup? I have their Cabrac and curious how it will line up. I’m not going to be using the smittybilt mounts, I was going to figure something else out.

For the mounts I would think you could get 2 heavy duty hinges and bolt them together to make a cheap version of the smitty built mounts.

You would need slots instead of holes if you want to mimic the amittysmit mounts. Or use washers on one side between rail and mount.

What about aluminum c channel? That might be a good option as well. Just depends on if the Topper rack needs a mount that can hinge or not.

The main issue is to compensate for three things:
    - angle side to side as.often the tracks will.lean towards the outside
    - angle front to back as the mounts near the cab and rear are often angled down.
    - height difference between center mount and the ones at the two ends of the track. Center is higher. If you only use 4 mounts then this one is not an issue.

That makes sense. Seems like it would be nearly impossible to mount the rack correctly with "the other brand" solid mounts then.

Will get a PM today or tomorrow to everyone on the first batch with details so you can order your crossbars (for the ones who have not already done so).

I moved out of my home Saturday and fractured my ankle yesterday so it was a busy weekend!

Don't listen to Floyd for anything injury related. He managed to send himself to the ER trying to ziptie a wreath to his truck.
