    Most folks will likely end up in the “all-in” range of $400-500+ range. Depending on number of bars and number/style of mounting feet.

    Still not a cheap rack option, but certainly cheaper than the bigger name brand.

    So I am using Krylon rust protector premier and satin black.. after many coats of each and waiting a few days, I am still getting chips anytime anything touches the bars.

    Any ideas on paints or ways I can prevent this from happening?

    Snug top Rebel, Thule tracks, ditch tracks, Bagged rear suspension, F/R anytime camera, intermittent wiper switch...
    Anodizing, powder coat, or automotive enamel + bake. You can also get some Thule or Yakima T-slot covers so any load slides on them instead of the paint.

    Alcohol Clean or mineral spirits then lightly sand depending on material and then self etching primer 2-3 coats let dry well and 2-3 costs bed liner. It just depends on what you expect out of it and how hard you use it.
