Looking to do a DIY type prinsu for an old school M416 military trailer. Concept is to have the rack be able to raise up off the rails of the trailer gaining access to what is stored under the rack and possible roof top tent. Thinking a coffee table style lift system over vertical lift

finished it up yesterday, cool diy project

These are 44" bars. I also did the X2 quarter round up front. Ive done a little 70 mph on the freeway with no noticeable sound difference. Debating adding another X4 1/4" bolts to my mounting feet or upgrading to 3/8 for the 4 that are there.

That came out amazing! I love how cheap it was. However, if I did it given my mechanical incompetence it would be $200 worth of parts and $1,500 worth of my own labor hours...

I am still looking to do a DIY rack for my cap. I got to looking at this Hat bracket for mounting and it looks like that could be used also as a flat mount straight to the cap without a track. Just so happens I have 800 pieces of that Hat Cap coming to my shop for some holes, needless to say I will tell them I need a couple of extras. They are made from 1/4" alum so they will be perfect.

Some great work in here, guys! For any of you working in CAD, have you see those new online services that cut parts specific to your drawings?
    https://www.precisiontubelaser.com/
    https://www.oshcut.com/

I'm not sure what they charge but it could be a nice way to get a very professional product based on your design when you don't have the equipment to do it yourself in your garage.

For 2 it's almost not cost effective but if you got 10 it might would be cost effective. The prices in the photo is for just one side.

Had this rolling around in my head for about a year now, even bought all the materials, but finally got around to cutting the side rails and mocking everything up. Next is powder coating and final fit. I've had 2 extruded aluminum cross rails on my cap since I bought the materials, so finishing should be simple. I'll post another pic when it's on the truck.IMG_20190821_225012.jpg

Finally got my plasma table dialed over the weekend and a roof rack is next on my DIY project list. I am making a camper rack similar to the prinsu.
Will cut this out tomorrow and post some pics.
