    The slotted strips that are attached to the shell that you bolted the rack to. What are those and where did you get them?

    If I'm planning on putting a rtt up there, is 7 crossbars necessary or can I get away with less?

    Well I managed to slice my finger open as I was taking off the cut off wheel. Off to a good start though. Its kind of a pain in the ass cutting it. I was using a jigsaw but that didnt work for shit and using a cut off wheel is going eh alright. How long did you guys make the side pieces? I think I'm gonna go 56.5 in

    For the ones that built it, why did you mount the bars at 1" below the top of the profiles?

    @pm321 @Mxmili @ajohnson @Bannerman @paranoid56

    Wouldn't it be more practical to have the crossbars flush on top to help unload and also easier to mount awnings and stuff?

    Yes the prinsu ones are like that.

    I'm building my cabrack too so I can make them flush, I was just wondering if there was a reason other than match the prinsu.

    I think I'll do mine flush, much easier to slide stuff out and to mount the L-brackets for the awning, unless I'm missing something

    Well maybe for a rtt. If the rails on the bottom of the rtt are 1inch then i guess the bottom of the tent will sit flush with the side pieces of the rack. If that makes sense? Im planning on putting a rtt on mine.

    the RTT has bars under the frame that goes front to rear, raising the floor of the RTT by 1" or so. So in theory the rack could have crossbars sunken up to 1" below the side plates and the RTT would clear. In my case I a thinking of having the bars flush with the side plates so no issue there.

    That's cause you are using a ferrous metal cut off wheel to cut a non-ferrous metal. Where safety glasses.....the aluminum will clog it up, expand, and the wheel explodes
