I bought 44 LED bolts from superbrightleds.com and 3 of the lenses fell off. If you buy those, maybe super glue the lenses on before mounting them. Now I have 1 with a lens, and 3 without.

Dang when I first read this I saw 44 and thought damn that's a lot of bolt LEDs. I thought I was going to have some serious competition.

Haha, no only 4. Don't know why the forums sometimes change words/numbers. It's done that before for no reason.

    How many do you have?

Bolt LEDs? None actually, but I do have several strips.

Hm. I thought those would be better quality. I've bought quite a lot on eBay from China and have the same problem with the lenses. And the anodized coating fading in the az sun. I tried super glue and it doesn't really help. I've thought about coating them in a uv protective clear coat. I will try it when I redo all my bolt leds with new ones. I have 14 of them for turn signals. 7 each side in the headlight filler panels. And four more for running lights. Have all new ones ready to install but want to try my clear coat before to see if they last longer. They still work even though ALL of the lenses have fallen off of the turn signal ones.

How did you mount your light in the OEM grille?

    Hi Chenryiv!

I did mine the very simple way. I opened the hood, and, using a measuring tape, I marked the desired position of the lights on the top 'bar' of the grill. I did not remove the grill from the truck. I did it all with the grill in position.

Once I had the proper spacing all marked out, I drilled the holes with my Milwaukee cordless drill, and the appropriately sized drill bit (I drilled a small pilot hole first, using a 1/8" bit, followed by the 'proper-size' bit... I'm sorry, I don't remember the size.) I didn't care much that the drill was on a bit of an angle for drilling the holes, because the plastic is so thin: a bit of a slant in the thin material would make no difference whatsoever in how the light was mounted...

So, then I threaded the wires up and through the holes, and tightened down the nuts on the threads, and wired it all up. Took next to no time at all. Stopping for coffee and playing with the kid, probably 90 minutes start to finish...
