So I don't have pictures at the moment on how i did it.
But it is a clear lens with the same Oznium bolt led lights drilled into it,

i wired it into the stock plug so they only turn on when you brake opposed to the actual raptor ones stay dim at night then when you brake it lights up fully.
i did this only because i wanted to hide my rigid 6 in. sr amber bar away from the back of the truck (dust light)
was a pain cutting the cab to make fit :anonymous:

Sorry guys, didn't see this post as we have been having a conversation offline. I used 3 amp rectifier diodes. 1 amp probably would have been fine since the lights don't draw much power but went with the 3 amp to be safe.

Up date I finally got a chance to redo the led lights with the diodes, they work great they blink with the turn indicators they flash when being locked and unlocked. Exactly the end result I was looking for thank you for the info @tacomarcflyer and @m32 for the awesome write up.

I just ordered 4 of these led bolts. I'm sort of a newb with wiring.

Do I tie in all 4 red positive wires together and tap that into my headlights? Then tie in all 4 negative wires and ground it to the frame or tap it into the negative wire on the headlights?

I'm guessing these pull so few Amps, it would be ok to tap into an Accessory slot in the fuse box (inside cab) with an add a fuse to power them? I'm thinking of adding 4 amber (to match my DTR) to my lower grill valence. My 2011 has that honeycomb pattern, so there's no clean spot there to mount them.

Yes, green wire is Positive (+).
Using an Add-a-circuit should work just fine for Positive (+), although are you going to wire a switch to them?

Here is my final installed pic, been forgetting to post a pic. Looks real nice at dusk and nite imo.
although during the day, they a pretty dim, so I just wired them to my parking lights, I can turn them on at dusk, and they light up, since I don't use parking lights in the day. Made sense to me at least haha.

I wasn't planning on a switch. Just want them to come on when the DTRL's come on (but without tapping/splicing into any factory wiring). I figured an ignition related accessory slot would work fine. Or I could tap into the DTRL fuse.

Why not just wire directly to DRL's since the wiring is right there next to where the LEDs will be in the grille?

I just don't want to tap into/splice any factory wiring in the event I ever want to remove them.

Although I understand what you mean, in my opinion, it truly would be easiest, and certainly safe to just use a T-Tap connector to splice into the DTRL if that's how you want them to light up. I used those 3M t-taps and they are quality connectors. If you wish to remove them it should cause no issues, just some electrical tape over the splice. Either way, it was a fun little mod!

Appreciate the info on that product. It would certainly cut down on the length of wire I'd need to run. I'll certainly look into it.

    Another quick question...

Any difference in wiring if I run:
    1. All 4 LED wires into 1 (both power & ground and heavier gauge of course) and then connect to power source & ground - this may be too thick for a butt connector?
    2. 2 LED wires into one (twice) and then those 2 into one and then connect to power source & ground
I'm thinking with the spacing of the LED's and depending on the length of the wires - option 2 seems more practical.
