Wanted to be able to remove my grille without cutting or removing the wiring. Used a trailer pigtail.

The setup in the above picture works perfect and is super inexpensive to do. But yesterday I happened to be at a car show and there was a vendor selling all manner of electrical do-dads.....switches, pigtails, looms, harnesses, etc. Among his stash were some simple 2-wire water proof connectors for $3. Couldn't resist.

For the 2012-2015 trucks you can turn off the DTRL with the switch. Will the raptors turn off as well if wired to the DTRL? or will they stay on? I would prefer to have a no light stealth mode if i choose.

Mine are powered off the parking lights. So they are on when DRLs are only when the parking lights are on at the same time.

That also means that if I turn the DRLs off, the parking lights will also be off....which in turn means the grill lights will also be off.

    Make sense?

I’m just debating the parking light splice because i don’t usually run them with DTRL i usually Only run the DTRL so would want them to come on with just those. Also the turn signal and lock/ unlock flash is kinda cool as well.

Understood. I just decided to keep things simple. Mine are juiced off the right front corner lamp

To Split the wires that turn the Raptor lights with the headlights, what is the color of the cable?

A few mods here and there and counting....
Tap right into the corner marker lights on either driver/passenger side.

Definitely the easiest way to go.

And for those who like the idea of them being on all the time with the DRLs.....simply leave your parking lights on all the time. No need to even turn the headlight switch on and off each time, as the lights will automatically shut off when you shut down the truck and open the door....even if the parking lights are on. And they will come on when the truck is started again
