    Does anyone have a model for a DIY Recovery board that works. I can't afford the store bought, expecially the MaxTraxx

    Yeah it's called whatever you can find in the woods. But a 2x6 or 8 with grip tape wouldn't be bad.

    You could also keep some pieces of 2x4 and ratchet straps in your truck. In the event of a stuck, straps a board to the wheel/tire without traction and let it limp you out of a stuck. Just be careful so you don't spin the wheels fast and/or damage anyone/anything.

    There are also manufactured options available that are WAY less expensive than MaxTrax.

    As stated above, wood works just fine too but can be slippery. Scavenging gets you stuff for free. $10 will get you nicer wood.

    Bro Amazon boards are like 60-70 bucks. If you can't afford that you can't afford fixing your truck when it breaks off roading. Hell, I spend that on gas almost every off roading trip.

    I built mine out of 1/2" Plywood 3 layers of it with a bunch of hex head self tappers and glue
