Does anyone have a model for a DIY Recovery board that works. I can't afford the store bought, expecially the MaxTraxx

Yeah it's called whatever you can find in the woods. But a 2x6 or 8 with grip tape wouldn't be bad.

    ^that.

You could also keep some pieces of 2x4 and ratchet straps in your truck. In the event of a stuck, straps a board to the wheel/tire without traction and let it limp you out of a stuck. Just be careful so you don't spin the wheels fast and/or damage anyone/anything.

There are also manufactured options available that are WAY less expensive than MaxTrax.

If $60 is in your budget: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R5HYGDN/
    $49: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RYSL9V4

As stated above, wood works just fine too but can be slippery. Scavenging gets you stuff for free. $10 will get you nicer wood.

Cut the sides off of a milk crate and ziptie them together.

Bro Amazon boards are like 60-70 bucks. If you can't afford that you can't afford fixing your truck when it breaks off roading. Hell, I spend that on gas almost every off roading trip.

Has any one used the Go Tracks? They are foldable and I'm interested because they take up way less space than my current boards.

Check Amazon and other sites. There are lots of pairs of recovery boards way under $100 .

I’m kind of surprised nobody uses a couple of sections of gripstrut. I saw some scrap at a job site and thought about snagging it haha
