Yep, did that. Tried to match on a metric die; M14x1.5 or M14x2.0...nada. Maybe it an M16x??

The DS is Spicer, nut comes off using an M24 socket. The nut is deformed from OEM install (stake nut #90080-17083), it should thread on for first half inch or so...nada. I'm going to source a new nut at the dealer tomorrow; hopefully it works; if not the will drop the DS off at an auto machine shop.

Overall having never installed u-joints before; (barring this thread probe), this is an easy project. I rented the bearing press from AdvanceA made the job easy.

Used Moog #270 joints for front 2x and Spicer #05-213X for the rear see which lasts longer. The carrier bearing is Beck-Arnley, had better warranty if that means anything these days.

When I cut threaded rod, I file the cut end as if I was sharpening a pencil with a knife. That might work for you. Good luck

You need to “point” the first two or three threads completely. It takes a while but it will work

Toyota says it is a single use part. Once it comes off, you should purchase a replacement.

I did mine before I knew that, so I reused the old. I also recently helped @DF4x4 do his and he did not purchase the new nut either. I have yet to hear of a failure as a result of reusing the old nut. Though me not hearing about it isn't worth much....

    Huh?

I have no concerns. We both went with the factory recommended torque specs. I'm sure you are fine too... 6-7lbs isn't terribly over.

Since I bought the greaseable u joints and I plan on grease them every 5k this will minimize the grease splashing under the cab. I keep my truck clean on top and bottom

Help. @Steve_P , @jmanscotch , @CowboyTaco I took the driveshaft out yesterday and it got late, so I’ll continue today.
I removed the center bearing and this piece was there but since it was getting Dark and I couldn’t see if it’s part of the driveshaft or part of the old bearing.
