    X2.

You got the old bearing off. That's all that you need to remove.

I found it easiest to set the new bearing by attaching the front half of the driveshaft to the x-fer case and tightening to the first spec (IIRC 136 lb-ft), then backing the nut back off with the impact, then tightening back down to the final torque spec (IIRC 51 lb-ft). Then remove the front half of the driveshaft and reassemble the unit to put it back in as a whole.

There is a wonderful thread on the sticky section of the 2nd gen forum that lists all the torque specs.

Fuck fuck fuck, I spoke too soon, the shake it’s still there...I used an original Toyota center carrier bearing and spicer u joints, not sure what to do anymore, it drove great for 80k and started to shake once in a while. After 100k started to shake really really bad, the shake it’s From 25 to 30 mph. I even installed new rear shocks.
Check it out. 10 seconds into de video and at 15 seconds.

Try flipping the driveshaft. Remember it's supposed to be mounted a certain way. Did your marks line up?

I don't think it is supposed to have that much play in the center support bearing. I think I've heard 1/4" or less is normal. That looks more like 1/2"+.

Is that a NEW Toyota Center Support bearing, or the original Toyota Center Support bearing? Assuming new, I would contact the seller and ask to exchange for a new one.

Just going down a list in my head real quick:
    Tires balanced?
    Alignment good?
What leaf springs do you have?

I’ll check the tires this weekend, alignment should be good, tires don’t.t show any sign of bad wear. Leafs? Well.. I have the ones replaced under recall 4 leafs, they bottom up with 900 pounds, I even went to the scale a few times to corroborate the weight. I bought a new set of Icons nxt and they are just seating in the garage since I don’t have time to replace them. I’m really perplexed. All this started at 80k, I installed the lift at 10k, meaning that I didn’t have any problems for 70k, I don’t do off-road at all. And I can feel it in the gas pedal that it’s in the driveshaft, lately if I let go the gas pedal just a bit and press it again it will vibrate like when you drive out of the line in a highway and you drive over the little lines ( I think they are to wake you up). It seems that little bumps on the street help start the shake so I put new shocks and nothing.
I’ll have to go from front to back and check 1 thing at the time.

I had a vibe that I took to Toyota and they told me the leaf pack was bad. I replaced with Dakars and the vibe went away. Not saying it is your issue at all, but something to look at.

Based on what you have described, my next option would be to have your driveshaft balanced or replaced with a Tom Woods. Though, you did answer the question about the Center Support bearing being new (though I assume it is).

    New OEM center support bearing.
I’ll have my wheels balanced on sat and the new leaf pack next.

Keep us posted. Also, send that video to the seller of the bearing and ask for a replacement.

Its supposed to be staked in place according to Toyota. Mine was not, so I just reused it as others said.. :notsure:

Thats a pretty bad shake.. Is it only around those slower speeds? Might be something simple like a missing wheel wight from one of your wheels?
That does seem like a lot of flex.. But it looks like you're pressing on it pretty good with your leg.. My new one only moves up/down maybe 1/4" or less. But thats with me laying under the truck and trying to push up on it with one arm at an awkward angle haha

    This is normal.

Something else I forgot to mention, and something that I need to do...take some string and tie it around on of the bolts on the flange at the rear differential. Then hold it up to the corresponding nut on the flange at the transfer case and check to see if the axle is "straight" and in-line with the string.

    I’ll try this.

correct I am pushing it with my leg because like you said, it moves with he arm at an awkward angle and I couldn’t film it.
I don’t think it’s wheel relates because I don’t feel it on the steering wheel. I would say it’s the leaf pack but I the same time wouldn’t the shock stop it from doing the shake. The shake and vibration happens unless at low speeds, under soft acceleration. As you can see in the videos I’m taking off very softly. And while shaking or vibrating the millisecond that you let off the gas just a hair stops. At this point I can make it happen with the gas pedal. If I drive a little more aggressively I don’t get the shake but I get some little jolts . I’ll post a video of the vibration.

thanks guys, I’m slammed with work but I have to take care of this. I’ll keep you posted

Here I s a video of the shake and vibration. I had to hold the phone in my hand because it’s impossible to film it with the phone on the dash holder.
    https://youtu.be/nQgk_FzoZPE
ps: volumen up after the shake you can hear the vibration.

Oh dang. I didn't realize that it was THAT bad.

Do you have a GoPro or any other camera that you could put under the car while you drive? I would describe that as a VIOLENT shake. The extra length on the long bed might have something to do with it. I was going to suggest a Tom Woods driveshaft, but I don't think they make one for the DCLB. Cheapest option is to get another center support bearing since we already know that it has more flex than it should. Hopefully, you can get a replacement for free and all you lose is your time.

Brakes! Have you looked at the brakes? If something were seized, it seems like you'd have the problem all the time. But I would think that could cause the wheels to bounce like that.

In answer to your question about the shocks. The leaf pack is what handles keeping everything attached and how much weight you can carry. The shock essentially limits how fast they can extend and compress. Shocks keep you from bouncing after you hit a bump, but the leaf pack is what handles the heavy load.
