My solution to truck based sleep system. No need to level, and can be used off the truck as well.

These pics are proof of concept still needs a little but of refining but had to share because my lady friend just rolled her eyes and I need some one to appreciate the awesomeness other than myself.

I had a matress under the tailgate when I tested it, my faith in the physics was not a 100%. A 320 pound Sasquatch dangling from a one inch steel tube did not seem like it should work. But it did... so I took a nap... it is super comfy.

Update: Dialed in lines, split poles, added bug net, and tarp. Tarp needs a little work but it will keep me dry. I could use a smaller storage sack if space was an issue but an old ruck works great. Its no RTT but it is comfortable and cost less than $100. I love this. I'm curious to see how you secure the tarp for wind.

Bungies worked great, but I am thinking I can fashion some clamps out of PVC pipe and clamp the tarp to the stand. That may be next weeks project.

Just comes down to the shape. A big giant square tarp is going to bunch up and be hard to tie down, but you can cut it up and glue the seams/edges so you need minimal tie-downs and get a better fit.
