Would any sort of silicon spray work or should I just stick to some sort of grease? Looking for a qucik fix until I can devote the time to do the better fix.

that didn't work for me, there is a lot of pressure and I believe it squeezed the lube out.

the actual fix for this will not take a long time for you to do, 30min should be enough.

I know it's been awhile since anyone posted on this thread. But where are the most critical points to put this rubber piece in? Front or rear of the leaf pack? I have a wheelers AAL in. Do I need to put some between every leaf?

I just installed the bushings and the squeak is completely gone. I added a leaf last year and today I put a piece of hard plastic between that leaf and the original. I used a piece of rubbermade tote that I had cut into a 1-1/2 square.

I'm going to do this on my next day off. However I think my squeak is coming from the shackle bushing. Any ideas how to fix that squeak. It's getting very annoying

Wherever I have changed the engine oil on any of mine vehicle with leaf springs I have poured (I used to use a pump oiler) the drained oil over the leaf springs. None have ever squeaked after being oiled. My 2007 Tacoma included.

I have that annoying leaf spring fix. I called the dealer and they asked to bring my truck in so they could look at it and possibly fix the noise. I ended up taking my truck and what do you know, once i got there I tried to show the tech the noise the truck was making. The damn Taco was a quiet as a church mouse. I could not get it to replicate the noise so decided to take it in and drive it around to see if the noise would come back. In the end the truck was super quiet (didnt get wet or spray anything in it) so i drove home pissed knowing the squeak would come back. Later that night the noise returned so needless to say i was pissed.

Now i have to wait for the noise to be awful again so i can stop by and get it fixed the second time around

or just buy the bushings from Toyota, and swap em in yourself. no more having to coordinate the sound with the techs.

I have had the add a leaf TSB and I can still get it to squeak when I have weight in it. When I put my quad in the back (600 lbs) and then it does it pretty reliably. The bed is rated for 1000 lbs so maybe try add some weight you have around the house and bounce on your bumper and see if it does it.

Hope it helps, the squeak drove me nuts too.

My 2014 has about 1000 miles on it, rained and now its squeaking like my 2005 with 205K

Noise is from the leaf on the passenger side and seems to go away when it dries out. Any ideas what's up with this? It should have all the TSBs on it?

i did the fix today. it took all of 10 min. i used an old radiator hose and cut it into strips about 1" x 12" (four strips total) and slid them in the front and back of both leaf springs and it worked like a charm. thanks for the write up.

Jack up rear at the trailer hitch or bumper.
Wedge a crowbar or cats paw in between each leaf to access the isolation pads.
Apply a dab of heavy grease on the isolation pads. There are two pads on each side. The ones further to the rear are easier than the others.
Dont ever put your finger in between the leafs.

Always use a water-proof grease. High temp silicone is good. Many greases are soap based and aren't a good choice for this - so check to make sure they aren't going to wash out in the first rain.

Separate the leafs (as stated), put some grease in, and then use a piece of small string or heavy thread to drag the grease well in with a back and forth 'sawing' motion with the string.

Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
If u un bolt the shock and keep the axle supported, u can put a bottle jack between the leaves and frame and get really good separation of the leaves.
