Just did this mod. all i needed and used was my jack, two crowbars, blade, hammer and a bike inner tube. Car no longer makes noises.

Brand new 2011 Tacoma with 2100 miles and it's squeaking. Came across this thread and went to investigate. Turns out it was my bushing at the top of the shock.

A little PB Blaster fixed it.

That sucks! Is that the deal with the TSB springs? They squeak a lot. How do they ride if you have no load? I was thinking of loading up my truck and bringing it in for them, because I will be getting a set of ICON's for the front soon (hopefully). Well try this fix and let us know how it goes for the Tsb's

How does this mod hold up after time and miles? I am in dire need of it, but was wondering if I should use something other than inner tube.

I was wondering where the hell all that squeaking was coming from! Looks like I've got a new project this weekend... I hope it doesn't rain.

Just a FYI. If they aren't rusted too bad, a little motorcycle chain lube will work wonders.

I made my TSB leaf packs start squeaking in almost less than 24 hours...

just under a year so far and about 18,000 miles on the fix and it's working great! i DO suggest gluing it on one side, especially if you off road alot, because they will work thier way out if you don't

Tuesday night I used engine degreaser/cleaner to clean the leafs and pads. I resealed them with RTV Silicone, and for the last couple days no squeaking! Hopefully this will be a relatively permanent fix.

I took your advice and used the chain lube on my Dakars .

So far , so good .

Well, a month and a half after installing the AAL and greasing the hell out of everything and my creak is back. Oh wellz. Maybe I'll try this mod some day.

I've got a really bad squeak as well, going to try this later this week. Great thread.
