So you don't read the threads where people did it themselves and are chasing rattling, squeaking, pulling to one side and uneven tire wear?.
I truly don't care. He can do a SAS if he wants. I am just cautioning him. I wish I were as good as you...

Bold of you to assume those problems won't come up after a "professional" installs these parts, and if those problems do come up post install and the op can't chase down the direct cause, than sure take it to a mechanic. Its still an easy job.

Do you just want to argue? Good on you man. I bow down to your mechanical prowness. I hope you make a zillion dollars a year installing simple things in a driveway on Saturdays.

Good job going DIY on the install!!

Makes me feel better knowing that I tighten and rechecked all my work 10 times over vs wondering if a shop left a nut or bolt loose.

Well all the guys seem to have gotten you a good list of tools. Luckily you are here in AZ and we have a great group of guys that all have done our own lifts and know these trucks very well. If you have any questions at all just shoot me a pm. Or if you want to post in the azbs thread we can all help you too or might even have someone willing to come over and help. I would but I am up in Show Low if you want to drive up here I can help you do it in few hours.

It's really not a bad install. Took me a whole weekend by myself talking my time to lift mine. The UCA's were not nearly as bad as people on here made them out to be. Everything is just bulky and heavy and needs the proper precautions done before installing so you don't damage all the components.

That said, if you don't already have the RXT's I have a set available with only 1200 miles on them for sale lol.

Garage was chaos but it's still better than working on a Dodge lol.

You also can't go wrong with the factory specs on installs like this.

I think if there where two people working this together one could easily get the front and rear upgrades done in a weekend .. I’m doing it alone and it’s taking me a few days … but particularly cause I’m old :p

One of things I like about doing the install myself is that I am learning a LOT about my truck and it gives me time to do things like scrub the rusted bolts and clean areas that normally don’t get touched when washing the truck. Just taking my time and trying to learn as much as I can

You'll fine w/ the install. I'm not really mechanical at all, but can follow a YouTube video. Having never done anything really beyond some bolt-on mods, I took on my own suspension install last year and installed a set of the TRD Pro Fox shocks. Linking my thread from last year which includes some helpful YouTube videos to get you started. The rears are stupid simple, hardest part is getting the bottom bolt holes to line up with new, stiff shocks. Fronts require more effort, but I didn't do anything more than disconnecting sway bar end-links, disconnecting upper ball joint / control arm. Doing it this way I did end up with a bit of toe-in b/c I lifted the front 1" but I went straight to the alignment shop anyhow.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-replace-shocks-the-easy-way-trd-pro-fox.724660/

It was a fun little project, took me about a day taking my time, making sure torque specs were all in line, etc., Good luck!!
