As suggested by another TW member I'm starting a build thread to keep all my stuff in one place, and to show off my simple mods as well as give advice and help to anyone who needs.

Hope you guys like it, and if not then :luvya:

This second happiest day of my life. Reuniting with a wild taco after heavy negotiations at the dealer. First was buying my 2009 Trd Pro Sport which i traded in :frusty:

MGM 2011 DCSB Trd Pro Sport- complete with all the features including this hot brunette!
    20150425_173220.jpg

    1st-sell those ugly step rails.

    20150509_120857.jpg

    2nd-derpped all my badges!
    20150510_185211.jpg

3rd-Sell old wheels and tires & got new wheels and tires
(Trd Pro 17' with 265/17R70 BFG KO 2's) also derrped the center hubs!

    20150612_120113.jpg

4th-Install a usb power outlet in center console for my rear passengers (basically something to and for fun)

    20150708_143236.jpg
    20150708_144131.jpg
    USB 1.jpg USB 2.jpg

5th-sell the Jason (rage series) Tonneau Cover, sold for $475 super cheap!, so i could buy stereo and get new tint (5% back 18% Front) yes i know its illegal!

    new tint.jpg

6th-Drunkin stereo, amp and sub install (Pioneer AVH-X56000BHS, Rockford Fosgate Prime R1S410 10" 4-Ohm component Subwoofer, Kenwood KAC-1502S 60W x 2 Car Amplifier)

I just wanted a simple small system nothing hardcore, mainly because i wanted to keep as much room as possible.

    20150724_211833.jpg
    20150724_212329.jpg
Sub wouldn't fit so i had to trim a little to upper and lower panels
    20150724_212436.jpg
    20150724_212754.jpg
Like a glove. I had built this box 2 years ago with specs i got online to fit a shallow mount sub, also with the design to fit behind the seat. (as I'm sure many know, the way the back part of the tacoma's are built, is that they have a 2x4 size metal cross beam from side to side, so i had to basically make a box with that 2x4 cutout in the middle.

    20150724_214902.jpg
Grounding for amp under the right passengers seats! (Amp pic coming, forgot to take it)
    20150725_130424.jpg

and finally the complete product! overall took me about 3.5 hrs start to finish only because i started it at night in my poorly lit garage, used a head lamp for most of install and not to mention a couple of drinks in me made some things blurrry! haha

Thanks to @DrFunker for support and advice & @PeeRunner for the humor! haha

Soon to come are the JLEDs underhood kit from @csjumper2003

Haha thanks! I traded it in for a 2010 Honda Accord EXL coupe. I was driving a lot and needed a car with better mileage.

Are you finding that the mods you did to the '09 are the ones you want to do to the '11?
Leaving anything out that you did once before?

Yes definitely, this time around is for the long haul. So investing isn't as hard. Since I know I'm gonna keep this truck till it dies. I guess no one likes my build, (*hears crickets) except you hahaha.

    Nice.

Nah...I am sure more people than you think. Your audio install should be looked at. That came out really nice.
Did you say you do some sort of electrical work as your main gig?

Lol yea. I'm currently a safety coordinator for an electrical contractor, but I started in the field as an electrician, but although I don't work in the field, technically I'm still an electrician. I still do side work on weekends lol

Nice. Electrical shit scares me a bit. As you have noticed.
Hired someone to come in to upgrade the house a couple years back. They did a kickass job, but it did cost a bit.
Do you do vehicle stuff too, on the side?

Badass. I love everything electrical. It's definitely not cheap. I do vehicle stuff for fun. Haven't advertised as a service, but have done countless stereos. Did my dads 06 DCLB 3 weeks ago, and did brother in laws 2000 corvette last Wednesday.

Yea I think so also just not enough free time, also couldn't compete with actual car shops. If there's a sense here I don't know about it lol. I just hang with another brother in law who also loves tacos, he has a 15 MGM DCSB .

That's cool. My family is all Toyota of some form or another. Years ago my dad told me "Just get a Toyota and be done with it"
    hahaha
I am on my third PU now. :D
