Damn nice truck! I just picked up a set of those 16" 5 spokes for my '97 single cab. Might need to join you with the white wheels, I already have a white shell on the back and don't really plan on color matching that any time soon.

If you paint a set of wheels white, make sure to clear coat them. I didn't do that and eventually dirt and brake dust embedded in the paint.

what kinda paint did you use? I'm going with an enamel spray paint and then clear coating once I get tires mounted, in case I need to touch anything up

It's been awhile since I've updated anything but single cab Toyota pickups still fill my heart with throbbing lust. I found some steel wheels on local online classifieds at a too-good-to-be-true price and they turned out to be professionally refinished hub-centric OEM wheels with 4.7" backspacing, perfect for a 1st gen with 235/85r16 pizza cutters. Thanks, internet!

Brown Santa dropped off new upper control arms today. The OME 880 coils I installed about this time last year have never settled, so I've been driving on an out of spec alignment. Time to rectify that.

 Jealous of the greaseable ball joints on your set, need to swap out mine.

Thank you so much for organizing that. I had a blast.

Being the only one in our group with open diffs and no rock sliders, I opted out of that and decided to go climb on some big rocks, take pictures of big rocks and have a nap on a big rock:

It was an absolute epic adventure. I’d do it again in a second. Haha.

I got my new SPC upper control arms in. It was a mostly easy install with a 3 jaw puller to pop the old upper ball joints off the stock UCAs, some abuse of a rental ball joint press to get the ball joints of unknown age out of my second-hand manual hub spindles, and copious amounts of forehead sweat in place of PB Blaster. The most bad words I had to use were getting my grease gun primed with new grease for these bitchin' greasable upper ball joints.
    IMG_0584.jpg

I was still amped on high-octane iced coffee so I finally dealt with the constant low-level annoyance of lazy seatbelt retractor syndrome. I pulled them out, blew out the retractor mechanisms with compressed air, lubed the retractor mechanisms with WD-40 silicone spray, and washed the seat belts thoroughly. Much better now. Let me tell you how much my wife loves it when I bring garage projects into the kitchen sink...

Out of all of the bitchin' modifications on the @Jiveydude -mobile, I was the most envious of his Relentless Fab tailgate reinforcement. Mine arrived today in unfinished aluminum, just the way I wanted it. It won’t be this pretty for long...

I was indeed, @H3llRid3r. Let's do another adventure. I vote for Thousand Lake Mountain and Cathedral Valley. Or Goblin Valley to Cathedral Valley.
