Any other recommendations before I pull the trigger this Friday the 27th?

Also is there any way I could put 2.5" triple bypass without notching the frame?

What specs on the wheels to clear the shocks?

You'll need wheel spacers to clear the bypasses. I have mine mounted tight to the frame and 2" wheel spacers and I still rub a little when fully flexed. That's with 4.5 backspace and 35" tires.

I think I have 1.5" spacers and 4.5 BS on the rear already.
I'd like to eventually get 35" tires too. I still don't know if I want 35"x12.5x17" or 315x75x16.
For an access cab 2nd generation should I get 18 or 16 bypasses? I'd like to have them mounted as close to the window as I can to save bed space.

So you basically have 2.5" BS and still rub ?? That's nuts. I want this kit eventually but that's huge off set, does it match the front at least? Are you running +2 on the front?

My bad, I shouldve mentioned I am running wheel spacers in the back. Wheels are 16x8 methods with 4.5 backspacing and im running 2inch wheel spacers, im thinking baout swapping 1.5 inch spacers and seeing if I will get any rubbing.

I think most people run 16" bypasses because they tuck under the bed better but you can still run 18's. They seem to be for sale more often on the used market. But dont hesitate to call tim at DMZ and get more info, he was super helpful, great guy.

Yeah Tim and I have been emailing each other off and on the past year he responds quick and helped me out alot.

My dad said he knows someone at his work who can get Kings, but I don't know yet if I need 16s or 18s and if I should get triples or just smoothies for extra room. I know a local shock guy who can revalve and rebuild them too.

If you have the money go with bypasses since you'll probably end up wanting bypasses anyway. I looked for smoothies but could only find 16's for like $500 and I couldnt justify spending that much when I could get used bypasses for 900-1000. Up to you, but if you plan on running bypasses in the long run it might be easier to set up your bedcage, mounts, and clearance everything once for bypasses and be done with it

I got away with 14s pulling 16.5" of travel. I notched my frame though because of 3.0s. Not rubbing on them with 1.5" spacers and 4.5" bs wheels.

Yeah that's what I was thinking just buy everything all at once the do it once and done.

How did you pull that off? Angled them forward?

I rock crawl the truck, so the axle gets articulated a lot more than most pure desert trucks. I would bet most people who haven't notched the frame and are running bypasses outside of the frame rails run on a second gen if they articulate the axle all the way.

Yeah they are slightly angled forward. I must of cycled it about 20 times at least if not more. Also checked articulation to make sure they don't rub at any point.

How did you cycle them take all the leafs out besides the main one?

I'm going to be installing, fabing it myself and I've never done anything like this before.

Im using Tims (DMZ) spring under kit, I love it, I didn't notch the frame and mounted the 16" king triple bypasses out more towards the tire than Tim recommends. I wanted to save as much of the bed as I could. I'm running 33s method 4.5" back spaced wheels and 2.5" billet spacers. No rubbing.

Awesome that's exactly what I want! I need the bed space too.
Do you think you can get a few pictures of where you mounted it on the axle please.
Did you got a slip yoke made too?

Oh I got my kit I'm just hunting down some 16" 2.5 triple bypasses... Kings or Fox

Surprisingly Ive seen quite a few 16" bypasses come up lately on selloffroad and on some of the facebook pages. Heres one...not as clean as some of the others I've seen. When I was looking I could find good deals on 14s and 18s but hardly any 16s. Just my luck, but I was in a rush on the install, still got a decent deal though

Is $1,200 a good price for those?
