If I put 1"-3" lift coilovers on my truck, are aftermarket UCA's necessary, or will stock ones work? Also maybe some pros and cons with running stock or aftermarket

if not for wheeling/wheel travel, people generally get aftermarket uca's if lifting their trucks throws out their alignment, causing vibrations at speed

usually, people don't get vibrations until they lift more than 2", then aftermarket UCA's are needed for additional caster, which gets rid of the vibes.

but "need" is pretty subjective in the 1-3" range. People run stock arms and just deal with the vibes, some people can't stand the vibes

but if you have the $ for aftermarket, grab the UCA's so you don't have to worry

with stock UCA and 2.5-3" lift, you will have very little castor. your steering will be subject to 'bump' steer, meaning that

    a) you will notice you have to turn or pull your steering wheel to get your front wheels back to center,
    b) larger bumps or potholes will pull your steering direction easily.

Its noticeable, but certainly not dangerous or unpleasant to drive.

I did 3" with the toytec ultimate lift kit with stock uca.

I literally felt no difference. Driving was great and normal as before.

an aftermarket UCA will NOT cure vibrations caused by the needle bearing in the front diff.
