I have a 2012 Tacoma Regular cab 4x4 and the stock receiver has a SAT button but i am not seeing the infamous black roof antenna. Does anyone know what the deal is? I am asking before I contact the dealer for reconciliation or simply for answers.

All 2012's come with it. The antenna on Tacoma's is a little bump on the rear of the roof. Not the usual fin antenna like a chevy has. I think it's even painted to match the truck.

Actually I saw my first 2012 the other day and it had the fin antenna. Not sure if this was because it was bare bones, or if thats for all trim packages.

This seems to be a valid statement. I saw a 2012 on the lot with a fin antenna. However, a salesman once told me it was just a little block on the back of the roof before the 2012 was out. Maybe they changed the design before release. Better chance is the guy's a dumbass.

I test drove several before buying my 2012. They do NOT all come with the full-boat A/V package with the touch screen.

I saw a post somewhere here that all the 2012's have the fin. My 2012 DCSB has the fin.

RV7Garage, I think the original question was about sat radio, not the touch screen.

Thanks everyone for your comments, sadly for me I will have to get an aftermarket antenna.

I thought they all had the sat antenna... Sure it is a 2012?

I work at Thompson Toyota in Maryland. The 2012 Tacoma regular cab, 4x2 & 4x4 does not come with the entune or XM.

    2012 access cab prerunner 4x2, 4x4 = optional
    2012 x-runner = standard
2012 double cab = standard (display audio w/ navigation is optional in the prerunner 4x4)

Hope that clears something up for you. :)

My 2012 (Access Cab) did not come with satellite radio. I installed an aftermarket HU and placed the XM satellite antenna next to the GPS antenna on the passenger side dash. Looks okay and works fine.

Yeah, I think it's been answered - but base model radios do have AM/SAT button - but that does NOT mean the satellite unit is actually present.

Dealer would be happy to install one for you at a "slight additional charge" ;)

If it does not have the satellite roof antenna,it does not have satellite, nor will these two kits connect to it to the stock radio:Mounting Kit PT546-35090
Tuner Assembly 86180-0W031.I ordered this equipment and just finished taking it back as my 2012 Tacoma doesn't have the radio or antenna connection in the left side cowl side trim board. If your truck had a sat antenna on the cab but no sat radio when pushing the button(sat/am)then these two kits would work as long as you could see the connections present.(I found all this out the hard way.)

After taking the equipment back (see above posts) to the dealership I ordered this: Isty11 Satellite Radio Kit With Auxiliary Input (toyota/scion/lexus) and this :SiriusXM SCC1 SiriusConnect Universal Vehicle Tuner from Sears.com but the orders are coming from two different online stores. The first order that I ended up taking back to the Toyota Dealership was $328.This order was $180.35.I will post results after it arrives and is installed.

Installed all the equipment and got the SCC1 activated for $94 and some change. The display will not show over 9 characters and there is no way I can find to make this scroll. The sound is just fine and the units are installed behind the factory radio on the left and right sides behind the vents.I am disappointed in the lack of a scrolling as I thought it would show all the text.
