I had a starter recently burn up. After getting the “A malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle, or automatic transmission has been detected” engine code. After replacing the starter I have a screech on start up. Is there any way to see the flywheel teeth without dropping the transmission?

Is it an Automatic?. Should be right on the bottom of the transmission. Think it's a black plastic piece.

I’D pull the starter. Look there. Maybe it’s the starter.. is it new or rebuild? How did the starter burn up?

The first post. “I had a starter recently burn up.”
