If I understand it correctly, it doesn't transmit but it does store things like throttle position, speed etc

Look Toyota doesn't care about the sweet nothing's murmured in the dark to trannys. Nor do they care about your poor taste in odd music. Don't be so paranoid.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
If your phone is connected to Entune can it use your phone to transmit data?

Almost every car has a box now. My buddy is a cop and they pull the data to investigate crashes all the time.

Only if a certain threshold is met waking up safety systems such as your airbag control module

It's easy... Just take the Tacoma body off, set it on a mid 70's truck frame, interior, engine and drivetrain and there you go. That's pretty much the only way.

OP probably has a smart phone which is grabbing way more information and data than a pickup truck

It can't transmit data anywhere. It has no built in transmitter like a cell or sat link. It can be accessed and downloaded. It also cannot use your cellphone to transmit.

Downloading is 10 000x faster and cheaper than uploading to satellites.

They simply aren’t interested in the day to day minutiae of an orkin or cable guy.
