    I think there is a good chance that aliens exist. I think if they wanted to kill us, they already would have done it. Look back through human history, when more advanced civilizations went to previously "undiscovered" places they would usually kill the local populations off. We are still killing each other off to this day. Either Aliens are not like humans and are wiser and more peaceful, or they have evolved to a point that we are not at yet. We as a race have actually regressed, at least in the 20th and now the 21st centuries. The 20th century easily saw the most death and war than any century before it, and the 21st isn't shaping up any better. I actually believe that if aliens exist they are peaceful and that is why they are so advanced. Instead of spending and using most of the resources in the pursuit of war and weapons, they have used their resources to advance technology and society. Just think how much more advanced we would be if all the money we have put into continuing war and weapons programs was put into other ventures to improve technology and society. We would be far more advanced than we are today. Take this for example the value of the private sector in the US(the value of all private industry and everything it has created) is estimated at $7.2 trillion, and the monetary value the US government has spent on the military complex is $7.6 trillion. Imagine how much farther along our society would be if that $7.6 trillion stayed in the private sector.
