It depends. I'm still scared shitless in a car that can do what the GT 350 can whether it was made yesterday or 45 years ago :p.

Yes, I realize it's being done but not on a large scale. Also, lots of diehards and groups make fun of people that do the updated swaps. Which I find hilarious because those groups also usually love disc brake swaps... so why is it okay to do that but not make the engine match the stopping power? Anyways, I'm thinking eventually things will go the other way and it will become normal to swap to new high end components underneath in cars that are not 100% stock anyways.

Many good points but I really don't miss carburetors and dual point distributors or solid lifters all that much. Would take a Tesla roadster if anyone is giving one away.

Someday the 2016 Taco will be part of "the old day".

Especially with the advent of fully autonomous transportation. It's coming.

The only pain we all have with the Tacoma is we all know that Toyota can do better with the driveability issue.

It won't cost them a damn thing. A reprograming of the tranny or throttle curve would appease most everybody and we wont have to watch Toyota go down the path they did a few years ago. Those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

Look around, you might get one free. From what I've read, customers are pissed about how crappy they are. Consumer reports went from an A+ to a don't buy and pulled them off the list.

Screw the purists. I catch shit for break, suspension, engine, electronic ignition etc on my Hurst Olds. Screw um. The car is better off now lol
