Proof of the lesser mind generating false statements to justify dislike.

That was hilarious reading. I didnt know Frontier owners call their cars "Fronty's". That nickname sounds like a piece of lingerie or something. A lot of responses in that forum for not buying the Tacoma seems to be an issue of $4500.

My 1st Gen was starting to rust under the spray-on liner. No issues here with the plastic -- as long as you have a bed mat.

Hell, after looking at that Club Frontier (sound like a gay club to anyone else?) thread I'm glad I bought a Tacoma just for TW. Those guys seem like morons.

Naw , think we all did research as early as 2nd grade. Too funny though, buy what ya like, but dont hide behind lies or misconceptions to justify it.

hahaha, I started that thread over there. Didn' realize you all would find it too!
Apparently that topic comes up often over there...LOL
I just picked up a POS frontier (work truck) and am wondering what to do with it. And I had a few Nissans in the past too...

And the reason I started this thread (about the plastic bed) was to see if you all liked yours...I of course like mine.

Throw some firewood into that bare metal bed and it will dent..like my Titan did. That titan bed was sooooooo dented up from Firewood it was just terrible, but that's why I bought the truck - firewood hauling etc...the fonty has to be just as bad with denting. The taco's plastic bed takes all the abuse and more..and won't rust and weighs less.. double WIN!!

I thought about that too. $5000 isnt trivial, but compared to a truck holding resale, or staying on the road long term, $5000 seemed a small price in the end, and, at the price i payed it wasnt $5000 more, more like $2000.
I dont see a lot of Nissan trucks over 8 years old around here for some reason. On the other hand , you can't find a 2wd toyota 97-04 gen1 or 2 under $5000 here. One can easily scoff "overpriced" , but truthfully they just hold up better from the few I've seen.

My wish was to get the fully loaded tacoma... got it :)

no major issue with the bed. You must remember to not hit it hard with heavy sharp objects though, as it might break through instead of making a dent like a metal bed. But that is just logic.

You will get scratches, sure, but the scratches won't rust like your metal bed. And you can later seal them with epoxy or whatever you like. Also, it stains more than a metal bed, so washing dirt takes longer.

what about the fact that it can be unbolted and replaced much more easily. Just hoist it out and put a new one in.

composite is much more durable and stronger that the metal beds. Its just that metal bends under high impact and our composite might just crack
