Do bilsteins hurt your suspension

I'm about to put some billy 5100s on my truck and wanted to know before I do so, if the hurt the rest of the suspension in any way. And what do I do to fix any problems that are caused if their are any. Thank You

 

A lot of that depends on the setting you're cranking them up to



Angles should be fine since they only go up to 2.5. If anything your alignment will be a little off, which can be fixed with some aftermarket ucas.

Any time you change your suspension geometry you will cause some premature wear.

That being said, you have aprerunner, so no need to work about CV boots or problems with your front diff. Lifting the truck is just going to put a little more stress on your ball joints, and preloading the springs could cause them to wear out a little quicker.

Overall I wouldn't worry about it. You aren't really "damaging" anything.

Well I'm wanting to set them at 1.75, what parts would i need to sure up what would get worn out. And on yalls prerunners have the rear shocks at an angle? So not really any problems with putting the billys in. Thanks

 

You'll be good to go at 1.75. Just may need new springs several years down the road. Who knows maybe not.

Not sure what you are asking about the rears. I put 5100's on all four corners and the ride is better than stock.

 

so the springs would be the only problem on down the road tho. Thats sounds great and can't wait to get them on. My front shocks and springs are straight up and down. And the rears are at an angle, imight be something toyota did, bc it says it on the sticker idk. I was just wandering if my truck was werid. What do you have your rear billys set at?

 

If you need new springs you can buy my stock ones. 5100s are great I had them set at 1.75 then I went to a 3 inch lift with them using ebiach springs and the 5100s set at .85 and it rides very nice.

 

Oh I gotcha. All the tacos are like that. I believe it's done to tuck the shocks close to the wheels and help with ground clearance.

Rear billys are not adjustable. You will need an add-a-leaf for that.

I have the Toyota TSB spring pack which gives me 1" of rear lift.

Yeah the rears arent adjustable I have the TSB aal + another from toytec.

 

So my billys at 1.75 on the front will level out my prerunner

 

Hey Jeremy, did you know the rears are not adjustable?

 

I was nose-high with them at 1.75" and stock rear.

 

Here are the 5100s set at 1.75 and tsb aal.

And here is my 5100s at .85 with the ebiach springs tsb aal and a toytec aal.

 

Maybe i didn't realize that, so the rear tsb will finish off the leveling then right?
