Picking my BO sport 5F up next week. Deciding on running boards. Wondering if the paint color and black running boards will “hide” the gap if I don’t go with a flush mount. A gorhino 4” 1000 is about $240 whereas something like a rb20 slim is about double.
On some models and certain colors, my eye is drawn toward the gap because the board stands out against the brighter paint.

edit: decided one of the Go Rhino Slim will work perfectly for my needs.

I'm just speculating but changing paint color might not be so easy and it's possible a lot of planning/scheduling goes into the paint production line. They may dedicate an entire shift to painting one color since I imagine the process of cleaning all the paint robot guns, nozzles, feeder lines, and main paint vat is not only time consuming but wastes a lot of paint that is left in the lines. So they may have some minimum number that they paint in one color, and schedule that out for weeks at a time.

I also like the bronze oxide within the available colors.

After weeks of searching, emails, calls and deadends, found it online 6 days ago (no idea how, wasn't in my search radius) with estimated delivery June 24th. It showed up today!

Only dealer to be 100% truthful, and under promise/over delivery. I had dealers tell me it was on the lot, and when asked for picture with VIN, well, that never ended well for them. "Fly down, it'll be here." Or they tried changing the written contract last minute because "the finance manager is on vacation and the guy taking his place doesn't agree with the terms" which always ended up with me going elsewhere. Easy from comforts of home/computer, but after one too many stealership cliches coming true, it was so refreshing to find an honest sales person. Everything in writing within 15 minutes, truck went "sale pending" within 5 minutes of deposit.

Had free ticket, great times, 1 day's notice, will make long drive home same-day. Didn't get it for invoice, but for Bronze Oxide in this specific build with only 1 dealer add on I'd never choose (wasn't going to fight them over it) and showing up 2.5 weeks early, I'm happy. Window tint appointment next week, bed mat on the way, etc etc.

SO glad my Underground lesser spec build fell through 3 weeks ago when the creepy finance guy turned my cash purchase into a circus of add-ons, fees, and financing options. Underground is the most common in these parts, and while I like the color something about the front end of a Sport made Underground look "watered down and flat." Bronze Oxide has been a 100% feedback "OMG what color is that??" And unlike my Skyscraper Grey car which looks too silver and dirty in bright sun, I think Bronze Oxide is handsome in any light and any angle. Again, just my biased opinion.

Don't know if it is against TW policy, but how about mentioning the dealer name for those shopping as well? Just a suggestion.

Yeah, I didn't know if that was allowed. If it's not allowed please delete, mod.

Dealer had their $993 discount, and last week there was a "unlock smart price/click here for more discount" which was about $250. And then of course negotiations for more discount were quick and fair. Doc fee is kinda high plus a few other taxes. Elsewhere best doc I've seen is $85 with only $106 miscellaneous fees in addition to the truck and state tax. But those dealers were higher OTD when the dust settled....and they kept pushing the truck delivery back. FWIW, I almost purchased a Sport at invoice, but the color was wrong. I've done the "great deal....color is okay" before and life's too short.

I dealt with Patricia. And my brief chat with their finance manager (I did not finance) did not give me the greasy slimy shyster vibe.

Just got back from America's tires.

    17 x 8.5 +25 offset Icon Compression
    285/70 R17 BFG KO3's

Windows tinted 55% front, 20% front doors, 70% back 3 windows.

PPF full front, hood, a pillars, mirrors, door cups, full skirt about 12" up.

It doesn't suck. But the pictures do. Will take more when it's unloaded in good light.

@22Coma6MT - yep. I have seen more CyberTrucks on the road than I have seen new Tacomas.

I've been in the market for several months, scouring the net, calling dealers, going in person. Finally on this past Taco Tuesday one of my dealers gave me a call at 7 PM saying he found my truck in their latest allocations. It's not built yet, but I put down a deposit yesterday morning and should have it in "2-3 months". MT, TRDOR Premium, SDM in BO for MSRP. Just don't give up or settle for anything less and eventually you should catch one!

Another dealer just let me know they have 10 Bronze oxide on allocation now. So it seems like Toyota are about to do a big BO production run. My question is this a one-time color, will it be gone next year? Or is this going to be the new Underground? :)

Yeah, it's tough without the allocation spreadsheet we had. I was lucky enough to catch just the right one the day it showed up on allocation. Plus, we were able to filter out the dealers that charged markups. 3 month wait is typical.

If you're anywhere near southern Cali, be sure to check with Longo, the biggest Toyota dealer in the world.

That would be nice if they ramp up production of BO as it is my first color choice. Hell I would be happy if they ramped up production of OR Premiums!
