Do Camper shells give you better or worse gas milage?

    ya... mythbusters did a show on this.

    the best gas mileage is with no bed cover and a closed tailgate. this is because the open bed creates a positive air pressure pocket which makes the air flow over the bed.

    the worst gas mileage is with a tonneau cover. i would assume that a shell has the same effect as the tonneau cover
