    Not much really. Just touches.
Exactly. I've got a 23 OffRoad 4x4 in Colorado and a 24 4x2 SR5 in Florida. Everything I've owned in Colorado is 4x4 and everything I've owned in FL is 2WD.

I've always had front wheel drive vehicles...Honda Accord & Pilot.

Had a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo 5-speed rear wheel drive when I was assigned to Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX.

My Sport is first 4WD I've owned and I'm learning!

Thank goodness I don't have to turn hubs to make it 4X4. lol

We are a rare breed but we exist.

My 2010 2wd has been mine for 12 yrs, driven it daily even in the bad snowstorms of MA to work and back with zero issues.

FWIW I had a 2006 Colorado before this and even with 4x4 it sucked in the snow, the 2WD Tacoma is better believe it or not.

I get plenty of shit about it but whatever, my truck does what I need ,it was $17K almost new and it's paid off.

I mean, if I bought a truck when I was first starting to drive I'd have needed 4x4. This was 1990 and I'd be buying at least a 10 yr old truck. None of those vehicles had the electronic assist and stuff.

I've used 4wd twice on my 2017, engaged the locker once and have yet to use crawl control. :anonymous:

Did I mention I have a lift with 2.5's going on soon?

My only real regret honestly is with a rwd theres not much you can do with it customization wise. I don't care for slammed cars and trucks and with a 4 banger under the hood it will never be a race car either, LOL. Can't lift it or build an overlanding rig without being laughed out of the woods. Choices were slim around here when it came to tacomas. Didn't see many 4x4 TRDs that weren't sky high price wise and none that were Bronze Oxide with the white trimmed interior ( most were grey, black, or white ). At least here in Ga we don't see snow very often.

We don’t see much snow in a big portion of Texas either. But when I had to go rescue granny a couple of years ago, I put the 4Runner in 4wd and it was totally in its natural environment. Same with the Tacoma. Getting out in the shit to get supplies was zero issue. Nice to have it when you need it.

I was running Michelin LTX AT2’s on both. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to dump the tires that came on my 2024’s and buy them again.

The old saw "4WD just means you're further from the road when you get stuck" has some merit.

Offroad in 2WD. Get unstuck in 4WD. Getting stuck in 4WD is a lot more stuck.

Do what you want with your truck, don't spend your valuable life worrying about getting laughed at. Who cares, do what makes you happy. Spending your time being concerned over other peoples opinions about you will only leave you with regrets down the road.

Have owned several 2WD Tacoma's and they were great, except in the snow. 2WD Tacoma is useless in the snow, better off with a front wheel drive civic than a 2WD Tacoma in the snow.

I had my 2013 TRDOR 4X4 for 13 years, and used it in exactly zero scenarios where 4WD was required, though there were a few where I engaged it and felt peace of mind. Where it came most in handy was adding +$600 every 30K miles for 4X4 component maintenance.

For most, 4X4 is more of a peace of mind insurance policy and bragging rights, more than need.

But facetious questions deserve facetious responses: No OP, you don't deserve anything, and there is absolutely nothing unique, exciting or unexciting about your choice. But, we all hope you enjoy it!

I've long said this when asked why I never care about buying fancy wheels for my vehicles..because I will rarely see them, but everyone else will. So I'm not spending on something for everyone else. Haha

I always thought that Toyota selling 2WD Gen2 “Prerunners” was a piece of marketing genius, cleverly designed to appeal to buyers who otherwise would’ve bought a 4x4 they never really needed. You still see Gen2 prerunners all over the roads, and they look great.

Surprised they dropped it for Gen3, and packaging the Prerunner badge with two doors and leafs on Gen4 misses the mark. Should bring it back on a double cab.

    I'm in WestCentral WI.
There's plenty of 2WD around and I'm sure they have their reasons.

When I see one out in 3' of snow, though, I wonder "Why would you"?
