I’ll keep this as brief as possible. 2,000 miles on my 2019 Tacoma. Since I bought it I’ve been thinking the A/C is SUPER cold even on low. Almost so cold I wish there was a lower setting. While driving today, I noticed the air didn’t feel quit as cold for a few seconds then it improved. The cycle continued to change about every 5 seconds and coincided with the compressor cycling on/off. Only time it doesn’t do this is on the high setting. Watched the compressor on each setting. A/C on high, the compressor pretty much stays on. A/C on medium, compressor is on about 20 sec. and of for 5. A/C on low, compressor is on for 5 sec and off for 5 sec. Should it cycle that much? It was in the low 90’s and I was in full sun while this was going on.

Mine cycles within a few seconds too when the fan is on low and cooling demand is low. Normal.

Im guessing you either have a non auto climate control truck, or you are using the auto climate control on LO.(fullblast cold temp)

The vent temp will always vary a few degrees between compressor cycles. Either yours is swinging too much, or you are sensitive to vent temps. Stick a thermometer in the vent and check.

I think it is probably normal. It’s only a few degrees difference. I compared the cycling to that of my wife’s 4Runner and it’s pretty much the same. I don’t feel the temp change on hers but as I said it’s barely noticeable so probably normal. I notice things like this then start worrying something’s not right. The truck is still new to me so I don’t have everything figured out just yet.

Normal. The compressor cycles on and off based on evaporator temperature... off around 35 degrees, and on around 45 degrees... so, you will see about a 10 degree temp swing during normal operation.

FWIW, temp swings are greater when fan speed is higher, so use a lower fan speed to lessen the swings.
