My 2008 DCSB SR5 TRD Sport came with 1 key. I assumed (yeah yeah, I know) that the fob that unlocked the doors was lost somewhere or the dealer sold them on ebay. I ordered a replacement pair on line yesterday, only now it just occured to me that the truck may not have come with that option! Doh!

So I searched the archives but could not find a way to tell if a vehicle has the option or not. Anyone have any ideas? Did I just buy 2 fobs that are just going to sit in my key bowl, silently mocking me everytime I look at them?

If it has factory power door locks, it came with keyless entry; even the base model

Thanks guys! I'll see if I can get a look behind the glove box for the transmitter, but as others have said since I have the SR5 option I should be good to go.

It does have the SR5 chrome badge on the tailgate as well as the TRD Sport decal (?) on the side of the bed. I wasn't sure how the option packages worked... When I used my Google Fu to learn more about the SR5 option I couldn't find a definitive, comprehensive list of every single thing that came with it. Either way I'm happy with what it has.

That seems to be the question I can't answer. What I find is things like what's in the pic below... From comments on this site I know the SR5 had more than what is listed on the pic. Each website I find has an incomplete and differing list. Really very strange. It's not like we're trying to find an option list on a calistoga wagon from the 1830's!

What’s up TW! I know this is a 7 year old thread, but haven’t got an answer on a week old thread thread yet, so just throwing this out there.
My 2014 Base Tacoma 2wd A/C 2.7L has power locks, reverse camera pigtail , chirp pigtail (in engine bay) but no keyless entry option, took the whole glove box area apart, took apart the oem radio, no pigtail for the keyless entry receiver. I’ve searched a dozen threads on this subject, even created my own thread, trying to get a wire diagram for my loom behind the dash. I just recently noticed on the OEM Toyota parts website that pops up when ever you try to look for an oem part for sale, that there’s about a dozen different wire harnesse part numbers, does anyone in this thread, know how I can find out what part number my harness is , so I know if I’m capable of tapping into the harness to install an oem receiver? It’s been a real headache.
I was also told if my ECU isn’t set up for it, and I install the receiver, it won’t get the signal. From what I’ve read, the key fob sends the signal to the receiver, then sends a signal to the ECU then sends the signal to the door locks.
    Appreciate it! Aloha!
