I have a 2007 Double Cab Long Box 4x4 TRD Yamaha Special Edition.

I want to know if I have rear LSD. I can't see if there's a LSD sticker on the diff cover because of undercoat every year.

How can I know if I have rear LSD other than the sticker?

that is a Yamaha TRD where they delete the E-locker, so no e-locker but you should have mechanical locking diff

The 2005 to 2008 model years came with a mechanical true limited slip locking differential.

Jack the rear up (both wheels off the ground) turn one wheel if the wheel on the other side turns the same direction it has limited slip if it turns the other way it does not.

I'd call your local Toyota Dealer and give them your VIN#
They can tell what you have, There really isn't much info on the Yamaha Edition Trucks.

What little I can find about them is here:

my understanding is that the taco LSD is actually a open diff with some very clever computers selectively applying the brakes to the side that slips

no special oil required, no plates to wear out inside the diff.

Some dealer package I think they had for the early 2nd gens.
It's a TRD sport with bedside stickers and some other interior stuff
With that being said yea it has a true LSD rear diff

If it has the 'fake' hood scoop, as delivered to the dealer (not added later) and it is a 2005-2008 model... then it is a SPORT TRD (vs. the Off Road TRD, with a normal hood)... then yes, it has the mechanical limited slip rear diff. Only the Sport TRD had that diff, before 2009.

In 2009, all Tacomas went to the TRAC and AUTO LSD systems to provide limited slip traction control (which also works on the front diff in 4WD-HIGH) and the mechanical clutch pack rear diff is gone.

Well not only the sports. Many upgraded level SR5s had and LSD rear end as well.

I will take your suggestion and drop by the dealer. I will post the result.

The info in your link is good.

Based on all the info, I don't think I have LSD. Thanks everyone for your input.

If you're truck has all the colored match exterior (grill, bumper, door handles and mirrors) and hood scoop then technically it's a TRD sport...so you have an LSD

Be glad that yours is an '07 Sport with a mechanical LSD, I hate the electric LSD in my '13 and now my '14. I miss my locker of my '06 TRD OffRoad even though it eventually let me down with a rusted up actuator.

The Off Road TRDs still have a locker.
Of course A-TRAC is better since it works the front tires too, and it doesn't need to be disengaged to maneuver, as tire rotation isn't frozen to the other tire on the same axle.

If he gets a Tacoma with a locker again, then it will also have A-TRAC, standard issue on Off Road 4WD Tacomas since 2009.

TRAC actually is a big upgrade over the open differentials of before... I had both TRAC and 'Tracless' Tacomas, and the TRAC system takes the 4WD-HI to new levels.

You see, spinning tires do nobody any good, but if that energy goes to turning tires that before would just sit there, you move!
