I have a 2000 Tacoma sr5, 3.4l v6. Engine is 5vz-fe at 405,000 miles. The timing belt just jumped and so I’m replacing both that and the crank sensor, but do I need to reprogram the trucks computer after doing so? If I do, how does one go about doing that?

no, these trucks are pretty dumb and none of the sensors need to be programmed. I'd recommend replacing it with OEM. Aftermarket sensors are not as reliable

I replaced it with an Intermotor Standard Motor Products sensor, part number PC86. It’s an exact match look wise, and I believe SMP falls under OEM?

That's reserved for domestics! You are good, just plug and play.

I don't have any experience with SMP but it looks like a good choice.

Typicalyl Denso is the OEM for Toyota engine electrical.

It is probably OEM equivalent aftermarket replacement. If you already have it run it
