Half a dozen times a year my truck starts to spin on wet grass, mud or snow. Push the auto LSD button and all is good. Crisis averted! Still not buying a 4X4. Although my next truck may be a full size as once about 5 years ago I overloaded truck with shingles so rather than make 2 trips next time I will get a bigger truck. Justified!

New member, but long time Taco owner. Had a 2011 SR5 DCLB 4WD...sold it August last year. Waited 3 months for my 22 TRD OR DCLB, very happy. So anyway, had to throw my vote in with the others. Indeed, what 99% of the previous posters said for sure!

Of course, I live in Alaska...so it's not even a choice I would have to consider!

4x4 Has it’s time and its place. Doesn’t mean that everybody needs it. Depending on what you plan on doing with your truck and where you live, a 2x4 truck is probably just fine 90% of the time or more.
Sort of like locking differential. All three of my previous trucks had it. Never once used it in over 30 years.
