my big tires have been rubbing on the upper control arms and rubbed away the black coating on part of it so it's down to the metal.
This problem is the dealers fault.
Should I insist on new upper control arms? I bought it brand new 15 months ago.

Just because it has rubbed the paint off? Bro, take your wheel off and hit with some black spray paint.

How is this the dealers fault? Did you purchase the vehicle with the big tires from the dealer? If you did then show them and they can offer you a remedy. If you put on the big tires yourself then your on your own. Just hit it with a spray can and call it good. Get some spacers.

I bought it from the dealer with these wheels already on it in the show room. They said the only real remedy is to put smaller tires on... crazy! They said they tried a 1" spacer but it would not pass inspection because it would come out too far!

I would get them to offer me the correct wheels with the correct offset. A 0mm Offset would do fine; what size are the tires? Tell them you bought it because of the bigger tires and you insist they install new wheels with the correct offset so the tire would stop rubbing if spacers is not an option.

My local toyota dealership have a few showroom trucks with bigger wheels and cheap Revtek spacer lifts that they charge an additional $1200 for lol (Thats the lift itself, they charge an additional 2000+ dollars for wheels alone) Most of the wheels have the correct offset and do not rub.

Get the free spacers and get inspected by more lenient shop:notsure:

    Or let them go smaller.
