I have a full size utility Suzuki king quad atv. Will I be fine loading it in bed w stock leafs? I've heard I need to reinforce the tailgate. I guess I need to measure if my atv width wise will even fit.

Check to see if it fits then decide if you want to put it in the bed. If so then air bags are going to be your best friend.

It will probably only fit if you ride it over the wheel wells. The only one I’ve had that actually fit flat in the bed is my wife’s Grizzly 350. You’ll want an AAL or air bags if you’re going to carry an ATV often or far, you’re putting 600lbs or more in the bed.

I made a small ramp that fits in my bed. Put a 2X6 cleat on the front. Made from 3/4" plywood. Piano hinge in the middle, metal stiffener on the lower section. Works just fine. Added the airbags. Firestone RideRite with cradles.

If it were me and I used the ATV often, I would buy a trailer for the ATV.

Avoid the shenanigans of loading the ATV and be able to use the bed for important things like beer cooler, grills, shooting stuff, camping, fishing, hunting, etc shit.

Either way, I would beef up the rear springs.

I most certainly agree with you on this one. I rode for yoers and had a few close calls with it slipping off the ramps by myself driving in to the bed. That was enough to make me go buy a trailer which is much safer on the person and easier on the truck.

I was fine loading a Honda rancher trx350 4x4 and it was fine back there. Sat level. I would add an AAL if you were planning to do it often and a trailer isn't in the budget. Over time the stock springs get worse and worse at holding weight.

Trailer is a great idea. Didn't work for me because if I'm taking the ATV it is most likely deer season and I'm towing a pop-up camper.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I've carried a Polaris Sportsman 500 in the bed just fine. The front suspension will squish together to fit between the wheel wells if you have independent front suspension. If you have a short box the rear wheels will be on the tailgate. A long box will get all 4 wheels into the bed but you can't close the tailgate. And you don't need to reinforce the rear suspension. It will work. You'll be fine.

Understand I need to reinforce actual tailgate also.

If you want to. I never had any problems with ramp loading my atv.

I put my Honda Foreman 500 with a Cow Elk strapped to front rack up the ramps and into the bed without any issues. I do have the tailgate reinforced but no Airbags or AAL. During Deer and Elk season the 4 wheeler rides in the back A Lot!!!!! 2005 with 190,165 Miles.

Go get a strap from the ramp to the hitch so it won’t slide back on you.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
For 2nd gen taco 75 percent yes

If your trailer has the round post tongue jack that sticks up, and you tow with the tailgate down, it will bend the tailgate when you turn. Lots of people have done it.

I’d at least do 1 or 2 helper springs.
