The Hikaris were the best LEDs at the time, before the Morimoto 2stroke 3.0s were out. Both are easily outperformed by halogens. Morimoto 2stroke 3.0 is by far the best PnP LED on the market vastly superior in design and optics, I'd not recommend the Hikaris anymore. But I'd also not recommend the Morimotos over higher performing performance halogens.

I think Diode Dynamics makes some of the very best pod optics, but their SL1 PnP LED is actually worse than stock. Typical for an PnP LED, it is a downgrade due to poor optics from the wide PCB reducing focus, shifting the light pattern to foreground while reducing distance light. Unfortunately increased foreground light leads people to believe it is better, when in fact that is what makes it worse. You want less foreground light and greater distance light, and you will not get that from a PnP LED in a halogen assembly. See the review and data in post #1260.

Lasfit makes very poor performing products. You likely have a ton of foreground light due to bad optics making it seem like it is brighter while at the same time eliminating the distance projection from your headlights, which is kinda their main purpose. People tend to get very defensive around this concept, but the science doesn't lie. Humans judge light output by what is closet to them, which is why so many people recommend such bad lighting products. People are very poor judges of distance light projection, which is what actually matters in a headlight.

I still run my Hikaris. Will be 4 years in September, same set. While H9s may be better performing, I don’t like the color, nor the fact that I would have to swap them out way more frequently to maintain that. And while I respect the hell out of what you do, I think people get a little too zealous about it. And while I am one for data, I also know that the “best performing” isn’t always the “best” for people. So at the risk of pissing off the acolytes, I’ll keep recommending the Hikaris and Morimotos as they are a legitimate upgrade. Of course, if anyone really wants the color and performance, OEM LED is the way to go I hear. And I am always happy to assist in that :).

I like the white LEDS because they reflect things properly at night where i live for my crappy eyes. I looked around for Good LED replacements but everything lead to Lasfit, Probably because of HIGH advertising.

That’s correct. One of the set of plugs go into the main fuse box in the engine bay.

If I remember right, the Form Lighting headlights had the same issue for some people. They ended up suggesting switching fuses as well to prevent that issue.

Yes, many of the low quality brands spend all their money on advertising and not R&D. If you look at LasFit's LEDs it is clear they have no clue what they are doing in product designs, they don't even attempt to replicate a halogen and they are likely are just flipping white labeled cheap alibaba Chinese garbage to US consumers for an easy profit. If you want PnP LEDs, these have some excellent R&D and are the best:
    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/h...s-morimoto-2stroke-LED-2STROKE-H11?quantity=1

You'll note they are called 'fog lights' because PnP LED headlight bulbs are illegal, and all US based brands were forced to recall products sold as such.

It is also worth noting LasFit is an IP thief company that steals the content and reverse engineers US brands work and designs, and does it very poorly.

just did a bit of research. Only the SR5 models have to use the fuses because they don’t come with the factory drl. TRD models are plug n play.
