Ok im getting a leveling kit for my 06 tacoma so i can install some 285 75 16's on my truck. My question is this, im installing these tires on my stock wheels and i was told I need wheel spacers to clear the control arms. Is this true? if so what size spacers to I need?

I've gotta 3" lift and I couldn't fit 285s because the back spacing and offset on the stock wheels aren't correct...I'm not a fan of spacers so I just kept the 265/75/16s and I'm saving for some A/M Wheels :)

Stock BS is 5.5". You should be at 4.5" or smaller (smaller the BS the further the wheel sticks out from the truck). I would get 1.25" or bigger to be on the safe side.

Yes, Im pretty sure its true. Just not sure what wheel spacers you will need though. Check out some spidertraxx. Lots of guys are running that brand.;)

Yeah I would go for a negative offset. I have a -12 offset on my 18"s and they clear the TC UCA's.

Backspacing isn't negative. Offset is pos or neg. There is no need to worry about the offset on the stockies when he will be adding spacers.
