Not sure but they probably put it in a slightly different location to make it work with the air dam? Just a guess

Why did you turn your Tacoma into a Chevy Colorado??

If you want to Off-Road you DON'T want an air dam. All it does is reduce your approach angle and ground clearance. Air dams are for ripping off the truck in off road conditions.

I highly doubt he'll even get 1 mpg difference. Would love to see a statistical test showing it even helps.

You can't put an air dam on and say off-road in the same post. lol

I guess the offroad is the only one with recovery hook on passenger side.

Hate to be that guy but:

    8000 miles/25 mpg*$3/gal= $960 without air dam

    8000 miles/26 mpg*$3/gal= $923 with air dam

$37 difference. How much was the air dam?

Sure it can. Pay money for an air dam assuming potential fuel savings and then get nothing out of it? Hurts the pocket book.

To each their own! Heck I'm paying out the nose for a header upgrade. Many might say that's a waste of money too.

I know right, I remember a guy posting a thread about lifting his 2WD truck.

    Folks went ballistic on him.

My SR5 has the air dam and still has a recovery loop, looks different though, on the drivers side.
