I'm giving my friend my 2016 trd sport 17inch rims and, tires in Portland. He has a 2013 tacoma prerunner. Does he have to get it remounted and balanced again? Is it a direct swap?

    thanks

Bolts right on. What he'll have problems with will be the tire pressure warning light if the TPMs are not programmed for his truck. He'll need to take it to someplace like Discount Tire to have it programmed for his truck. But that might be a problem because it seems that the new sensors aren't compatible with the devices the stores use.

Should be a direct swap. The wheels and tires are balanced off the truck so there won't be any need for your friend to have someone do it again. Like BKill said, your friend may have an issue with the TPMS coming on. Other than that they should be good.

I've already seen several posts where guys have done this. You might do a little searching and ask those who have done it if there had any issues.

Swap your TPMS sensors. They are not compatible.
