do i need to re gear

    just got a 6 inch lift with 315/75 R 16 tires do i need to re gear???

    will there be any problems if i dont re gear????

    I would highly suggest it.

    Those tires are a big jump from your stock size. You are wearing on your transmission and gear sets pretty bad.

    what does regearing do for gas? does it increase mpg in major way or no?

    ha! Nope. Not when going up. If you could go down, then the engine rpms will drop as well, hopefully resulting in better fuel mileage. But I'm not sure.

    so regearing is basically so your truck doesnt work as hard is what your saying? man i wish their was an easy way to get my old mpg back. i hear so many people say regearing is the best way for great mpg gain, guess they were wrong.

    I'd regear to some 4.56's when running 35's, but thats me. Its entirely up to you whether you feel it necessary or not. Fuel economy will suffer, drivetrain wear will be accelerated, and the truck wont accelerate as quick if you dont do the regear.
