Do I really need an alignment after new coilovers?

I just installed a set of 6112s up front. It went very smooth thanks to the wealth of info on this site.

One question; I can confirm that I have returned the LCA cams in 99.99% of the original spot they were before I started the upgrade. And the truck tracks exactly the same as yesterday.

So . . . how many of you would still drop the coin on an alignment check?

    Thank you

Yes you will need an alignment. In fact I'd get one now, then another after it all settles in.

Actually putting the cams back in the same spot after any lift is the exact incorrect thing to do amigo. The only way that would be correct is if your truck was sitting at the exact same height as your old CO's. If the truck is not at the same height your alignment will be incorrect.

    The better coast
See if any of the places offer lifetime alignments on the vehicle. Adjust bring it back adjust bring it back etc.

    X2 on the lifetime alignment..

Also tell them you want 0 camber, 0 toe, and as much caster as possible. Whether you have aftermarket UCA's or not will play a role in that.

This & I'll add that just by the very nature of loosening the cams has most likely thrown it out of it's "norm" settings, even if no struts were changed or even if the OEM's were taken out & put back in... they are fussy little bastards...

Just got back from the tire shop. How'd they do?

I asked for zero Toe, zero Camber, and as much Caster as possible with the stock UCAs. I'm also running 265/75/R16s

It drives very nice to me. Tight and responsive.

Which notch/setting did you use on the 6112s?

I'm running the 2nd notch from the lowest.

Right now my measurements conclude I'm at a +2.0" lift up front, but I'm pretty sure I read that it will settle back down to +1.75" soon.
