Only if the doctor says it's needed. Try googling urology and ostomy supplies

    What?!

*everybody* sees them. Especially when you put them on the #gram.

Okay, OP, I'm going to assume you mean external reservoir shocks. Try being more specific and using more than a single character in your next posts, though, m'kay?

Resi's are cool for high speed pre-running type stuff where they generate a lot of heat and need the extra oil capacity for cooling. For everything else, IMO, they're "would be nice to have" items.

Thousands of people out there do perfectly fine with relatively cheap bilstien 5100s and offroading, let alone the higher end non-resi shocks (King, Fox, Icon). Quite frankly, most people won't notice a difference.

If you're doing "moderate" offroad, and you have the budget, sure, why the hell not, but I see no reason to stretch your budget on resi's unless you have an instagram account and need the clicks.

If you have $1500-$2000 (for fronts only) burning a whole in your pocket, be my guest, but depending on your driving style, I would take that money and focus on better tires, safety gear, and/or skid plates.

    You also need:

Racks on top of racks and roof top tent
Swing out bumper with so much shit you can never open your tail gate
    Maxtraxx the mo the betta
    Winch only synthetic line
    LEDs everywhere
    Stickers and patches
    Snorkel
    Plano cases

I'm probably forgetting stuff but that's because I'm not using the motherfucking gram

You will get extra style points when cruising the mall parking lot so they are very necessary.

But, in all seriousness, external reservoirs are nice if you like to do faster off-road driving (think desert runs) where the cycling of the shocks can overheat the fluid. With the external reservoirs, you have less chance of overheating your shocks and you'll get better performance because of it.

I just looked that up on Amazon. Over $50 for just 1Gallon capacity
People pay that? There are charities that can use your dumb money more wisely.

Yeah, $120 for a 4 gallon. Then you've got the mounts for $30-60+

$50 for 2 gallons of water.

Or $50 for a 5 gallon Jerry can. I think I paid like $15 each for my 5 gal water jugs.

Since your post is pretty vague I'll give the reasons I put reservoir front and rear on my Tacoma.

I'm consider myself a 'go fasty'. I like embarrassing dirt bikes and UTVs in the desert by keeping up with the A/C on. I can't keep up fast dirt bikes and UTV's but most I can.

Originally I had ICON 2.5 C/O in front and 2.0s in the rear w/o res. Most of the time this worked well. But on fast dirt roads and a heavy camp load the rear would get pretty mushy and pogo about.
I noticed that if the rear shocks were too hot to grasp for more than 2 seconds there was noticeable shock fade. I installed a set of ICON 2.5 with compression adjustment in the rear and they stay fade free all day. Plus the comp adjusters worked well when the bed was heavily loaded. The front C/O's were just warm to the touch with out any fade.

Later I installed a winch and bumper with rock sliders. After a good romp in sand woops the front gets hot to the touch and the bump stops were getting a good work out. So I'm just finishing up putting CDCV reservoirs in front with 700 lbs springs. Have not done any test drives yet so I can not comment on the results but they do add 'coolness'.

IMO evaluate the 'need'. Does your driving style cause the shocks to get really hot and fade? Do you want to compensate for light or heavy loads? If you answer no than you probably do not need reservoirs.
If money is no object then reservoirs become a 'want' and do look pretty cool.
