If you’re open to suggestions I’d definitely skip on using the aluminum block. You can pick up an extra 1/2” of lift if you leave the overload springs installed. I also like the idea of u bolt flip. I did that on my Tacoma and the plates for the flip had an ear that the hydraulic bump stops would hit. Clean setup for sure.

Definitely leaning towards doing the AAL for some extra lift over the block. Thank you for the heads up, I didn’t know that leaving the overload springs would give some extra lift as well.

Just got my Icon u-bolts so I’ll be holding off on a flip kit until I decide to pull the trigger on some hydraulic bumps.

The aal instructions say to remove the overload spring just to make the pack more progressive but leaving it in is an option too. The extra 1/2” of lift just comes from the actual thickness of the overload itself but that’s not factored into the advertised 1.5” of lift. I took mine out but it was a tough decision. I really didn’t carry any weight in the bed of the truck so it wasn’t an issue.

Impatiently waiting for some parts to roll in after ongoing delays. Really excited for some new wheels.

Got the rear Kings installed today. Truck is sitting really level so I might just wait on lifting the rear until I add some height to the front.

Picked up some 35x12.5 Coopers on 17” Pro Comp rims and repainted them. Trimmed the front fenders near the cab mount and the tires clear with just a bit of rubbing near full lock. Also made some vinyl stickers that came out pretty well

Went with 285/70/17 General Grabber tires and there is no rubbing. Surprisingly quiet on the road but they are much heavier than my KO2s in the same size.

Installed my Prinsu rack in the dark with my dad last night. Almost no wind noise!! Now I’m on the hunt for a 40” single row light bar and some storage boxes

Next was to upgrade the interior. Went with a 2020 4Runner steering wheel and 2015 Tacoma radio and surround. Black cable is my aux cord

Broke down on the way home. Really wish the alternator was higher so it wouldn’t get caked full of mud. I was 300kms from home so I went the route of swapping out new batteries every time one died.

Wheel bearing had a catastrophic failure on my way home from the cottage after playing around in the snow. It damaged the rotor which took out my caliper and oil started pissing out so I had no brakes. CV axle boot was torn and pieces metal were not inside the boot. Went ahead and ordered complete hub, caliper, rotors, pads, and CV axle. Ended up breaking a brake line while removing the caliper... problems just kept snowballing.
