Why would anyone ever accept delivery of a vehicle with such stickers?

Yup. Immediately. But remove them yourself!!

I bought an STi brand new off the floor once. Told them to remove the dealer sticker, they said no prob and drove it around back. 10 min later here she comes boy.. shining. Walk around back..... THEY USED A EFFING RAZOR TO REMOVE THE STICKER AND MOST OF THE SURROUNDING CLEAR COAT. I was boiling mad. A job that needed a fingernail to do, they managed to turn into a full trunk respray.

    True story.

My truck used to be my dad's and he didn't remove the dealer decal. It looks like crap but I don't care.

When I bought my taco I talked them down on the price quite a bit. And I told them that if they did that deal, id leave the dealer badges on the truck and give them some free advertising. I did for the hour and a half drive home. Then they came flying off!

    That's funny.

I wasn't going to respond, but thought about it and so, here goes.

The 3rd gen Tacoma is a good little truck. I never paid too much attention to the look of /modified any previous vehicles, but joined TW and, oh well...

Decided to debadg the truck and liked it. Very basic, clean looking.

The TACOMA on the tailgate is the only visual "noise" remaining. If I could do away with it cleanly, I would.

I am pretty sure you were just busting my chops btw....lol

Well I was somewhat busting your chops. If you like the clean look go for it. Personally I don't care one way or the other. Not something I'd likely do to my vehicle but hey it's a mostly free country. My comment was mostly a tongue in cheek jab at some of the self loathing 3rd Gen hatred that goes on in here.

I have the dealer remove them before I leave the lot. I add it to the deal. Unless they want to pay me an advertising fee.

Does anyone have any experiences with the sticker residue not coming off? I have 11k kms on my truck and am now considering getting the dealer sticker removed but don't want it to look worse.

Try good ole WD-40. Should be harmless to your paint. Get the sticker off and wet the residue with WD. Keep it wet for a couple hours or so. The residue should wipe off with a soft rag. Be advised that you could have some ghosting of the sticker due to UV rays on the paint if the sticker has been there awhile.

Luckily my dealer doesn't put stickers on their vehicles. They do put on license plate frames though which I removed immediately. They're not paying me to advertise for them.

Best way... but wipe lightly with a rag of WD40 first. You would be surprised how good it works at removing sticker residue. Got one of those side window parking stickers couple decades ago in HS, came right off.
